Let’s drive around and take a look at Ely, NV. At the crossroads of US 50 and 93, and near Great Basin National Park, and several Nevada state parks. This is the last place to buy groceries and stuff for at least 100 miles.
Our stay at the Prospector Casino in Ely NV. It’s $20 a day, they have a laundry room, pool, gym and restaurant. Pleasant enough place to be, full hook ups and free Wifi.
It’s not so bad but it does seem to go on forever and ever…. 37 miles to Austin seemed like 137 miles! Sorry for the window glare, I took off early in the morning, driving East.

There’s communal water and flush toilets at Bob Scott, and the high elevation keeps the temperatures down a bit. The paid area is 10 campsites for $10 a day, and there are 4-5 “free” sites just outside the entrance. Other RVers mentioned “out back, behind” but it looks like the powers that be fenced that off.
