I broke my own rules, and didn’t pre-scout the location! Strawberry Creek is only appropriate for vans and truck campers, maybe a 20′ Class C, but not for any average motorhome. Mine is 26′, which is considered on the small side, and I almost thought I was going to get stuck! NO room to turn around.
There’s communal water and flush toilets at Bob Scott, and the high elevation keeps the temperatures down a bit. The paid area is 10 campsites for $10 a day, and there are 4-5 “free” sites just outside the entrance. Other RVers mentioned “out back, behind” but it looks like the powers that be fenced that off. I did a recon on the boondocking sites in the Lake Tahoe area, area. GPS coordinates and maps for for Luther Pass, West Walker River, and Tahoe Rim below.
Before driving into any of these areas, check it out first! The terrain around Tahoe can be very rough, and not suitable for RVs.
